Spain's third largest city after Madrid and Barcelona, Valencia is very much an up-and-coming cultural centre, with the architecturally stunning City of the Arts and Sciences and its traditional arts museums.

The city's size allows it to be easily explored in a couple of days. However, if you wish to extend your tour, the area surrounding the city offers plenty of beautiful blue-flag beaches, ancient castles, Roman remains and traditional Spanish pueblos to explore.

Visit Sagunto, a town full of historic tradition with ruins dating back to Roman times. See the remains of the castle fortress, the Roman theatre and spend some time exploring the Juderia (Jewish Quarter).
