If you visit Madrid as you travel with your group of students, there are two museums which you definitely can’t miss. The Museo Nacional del Prado, with over 4600 paintings which range from the XV to the XIX centuries, contains works by Goya, El Greco and Velázquez. On the other hand, if you’d like to see the avant-garde art of the XX century, visit the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía, where the works of Max Ernst, Marcel Duchamp, as well as those of the Spanish Dalí, Picasso and Miró, are on display.

In Madrid you can also appreciate the beauty of some historic landmarks, such as the Palacio Real, the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta de Alcalá, close to the Fuente de Cibeles. Another alternative is to take a bus from Madrid and spend your day in towns like Toledo, Segovia and Ávila, places which still preserve their ancient charm.
To go on with your contemporary Spanish art tour, Barcelona offers opportunities which are unbeatable when students travel in southern Europe. To appreciate the works of Miró and Picasso, you just have to go to the Fundación Joan Miró and the Museo Picasso. Figueres, a small town where you can visit the wonderful Museo Salvador Dalí, is only a two-hour train journey away from Barcelona. Back in the city, you’ll have the chance to see three of Antoni Gaudi’s most impressive architectural works of art: the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera and Park Güell.

Let us know which museums you’d like to visit, so that we can plan the trip to meet your requirements as you students travel Spain.
